Michele Karen Thompson

HAMILTON - Michele Thompson of Hamilton died of natural causes on July 23, 2020. She was born in Sheridan Wyoming, April 17, 1946 to Rosa and John Thompson, one of six children. She completed 1 ½ years of college in Sheridan before venturing out into the world which would be the beginning of many adventures. She later finished her college BA in Wichita Kansas.

At the age of 19 to about 40 years old, she lived several places, traveled, had many jobs, meeting many people and having a variety of experiences along the way. She was a seeker so her curious and observant nature served her well. She learned from the people she met and the experiences she had. She was a loving, kind person and tried to leave people and situations a little better for knowing her. Her seeking led her to be a great believer in Gratitude which brought peace and contentment.

She lived in Montana about the last 34 years. She worked in Missoula for about 7 years and about 3 years in Hamilton at Summit ILC. After losing the rest of her hearing, she traveled in her RV for 4 years. After returning to Montana, she received a cochlear implant she then had for over 20 years.

Some years later she worked at B.E.A.R. in Hamilton for over 5 years.

She volunteered at Big Brothers & Sisters, Human Recourse Center, Cross Country Ski Club and RSVP.

She had a great love for Nature and spent time hiking/walking, camping, skiing and just being outdoors over the years. She enjoyed crafts, painting and sewing off and on over the years.

She is survived by three sisters, Pat Tjon, Teresa Lindsey and Cecelia (Pete) Wray and two brothers, Joe Thompson and Tom (Cindy) Thompson, nine nieces and nephews and their children. 

There will be a celebration of her life on Wednesday, July 29th at 1:00 p.m. at Daly-Leach Chapel. A reception will follow in the funeral home's community room. Please feel comfortable wearing a mask and spreading out.
