Miro "Mike" Pasalich, born on August 13, 1945, in Tucepi, Croatia, to Simon and Kate Pasalic, passed away peacefully at his home on May 30th, 2023. He was the youngest sibling, with his brother Ivan preceding him in death. His sister Mladenka is still alive, cherishing the memories they shared.
At the age of 15, Miro moved to Fremantle, Western Australia, where he he played soccer and began his career as a skilled craftsman. Fremantle held a special place in his heart, being the city he fondly referred to as his first home.
Driven by a thirst for adventure, Miro immigrated to the United States, where he devoted over 50 years of his life to a career in the construction industry. His expertise and unwavering work ethic garnered respect from his colleagues and left an indelible mark on the projects he undertook.
Miro possessed an insatiable love for the outdoors, finding solace in activities such as hunting, scuba diving, hiking, and trap and skeet shooting. His hiking prowess, likened to that of a mountain goat. Moreover, he possessed an uncanny ability to strike up conversations effortlessly, engaging people from all walks of life on a myriad of topics.
Despite his modest education, having completed only the 10th grade, Miro's determination and resourcefulness were unparalleled. He accomplished feats that few could match, firmly believing that, save for physical limitations, he could overcome any obstacle that lay before him.
Above all, Miro held his family dear to his heart. He is survived by his loving son Brian, daughter Marianne, and son-in-law Robert, whom he loved as his own. His four amazing grandchildren, Jaden, Talon, Colby, and Hudson were the source of immeasurable pride and joy to him. They were his everything and the embodiment of his enduring legacy.
A church service to celebrate Miro's life will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at 1pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, located at 301 Nicole Lane, Hamilton. His family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the kindness and support they have received during this difficult time. A private family celebration to honor his memory will be held at a later date.
Miro "Mike" Pasalich's spirit will forever remain in the hearts of his loved ones and all those whose lives he touched. May he find eternal peace and may his cherished memories continue to inspire and uplift those who remember him.
