Nickolas Brassfield Obituary

Nickolas Todd Brassfield, 58 of Corvallis, passed away April 10, 2021 at St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula.

Nick was born December 21, 1962 in West Plains, Missouri where the family resided for the first half of his life.  He attended school in West Plains, MO.  Nick grew up in a Christian home and truly loved the Lord. In 1984, he married Angie of eight years and had his first daughter, Nickole. Nick majored in Biblical Studies and Central Christian College in Moberly, MO.

In 1992, he moved to the Bitterroot Valley, Montana where he met his second wife (Wendy) of 22 years, adopting her daughters, Lindsey and Britney Sweeney.   One of Nick’s greatest joys was being a father and a “Papa” to his grandson, Micah, and granddaughter, Callia.

In his early days, he was one of the finest trim carpenters in the Bitterroot Valley.

Most of his career was spent in carpentry or driving semi-trucks.  In the late 90’s he owned a trucking company and later continued working in construction, mostly as a finish carpenter.  He loved the mountains and would often visit to enjoy his quiet time with the Lord.

Nick was the definition kindness. He enjoyed serving his family and others, especially when his carpentry or mechanic skills were needed.

Nick truly understood unconditional love, a love that would lay down his life for another.  During the last few years of his life, he continued to persevere amidst much physical pain and suffering.  Today, Nick would want others to know that he is rejoicing in Heaven with Jesus.

He was preceded in death by his niece Megan Collins.  Survivors include his 3 daughters, Lindsey (Cameron) Scranton and their daughter, Callia all of Havre, MT, Britney Sweeney and her son, Micah both of Corvallis, MT, Nickole (Ralph) Stenic of Potosi, MO; parents, Kenneth Claire Brassfield and Marie Louise Gastineau both of Corvallis, MT; siblings, Craig Brassfield of West Plains, MO., Regina Kuhrt of Missoula, MT., DeeAnn (John) Sears of Fredonia, KS; 1 nephew and four nieces.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 17, 2021 at the Crossroads Christian Fellowship with Wes Flint officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the Family suggests memorials to: Britney Sweeney, P.O. Box 651, Corvallis, MT. 59828.
