Norman K. Jackson

Norman K. Jackson, 89 of Hamilton lost his battle with Covid Monday June 14, 2021 at the Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital.  Norm was born 2 Nov 1931 in Wendel, Idaho to parents Velma Irene Anderson and William Alvin Jackson.  He was raised in Wendel, attending the local schools there.  He later attended University of Idaho in Moscow and Twin Falls with his education centered on ranching and business and accounting.

Norm wore many hats in his life: he ranched with his father, he worked in 6 sawmills in California, he ranched in Missouri, he outfitted in Yellowstone Park, and retired to his little farm here in Hamilton about 40 years ago.  Norm loved Montana, the mountains and especially his horses.  There were only 2 breeds of horses for Norm: Tennessee Walkers and Fox Trotters.  The rest were just horses.

Norm married Rose Maas and they had 3 children: Cyndee (Doug) Fugate of Missouri, William Craig (Patti) Jackson of Illinois and Clifford “Kip” (Mary) Jackson of Missouri. 

Norm was survived by his wife, Margie Ann Jackson of 28 years, his three children and their spouses, 9 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.  Norm is also survived by two stepchildren and their families, Jarrod Floyd (Jennifer) Barr of Idaho and Deanna Lee (Dan) London of Montana adding seven more grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

Norm loved ranching, horses, his guns, and especially his very special buddies here in Hamilton.  You guys know who you are and how much he loved his adventures with you.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 17, 2021 at the Hamilton Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until service time.  Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Hamilton.        

Our thanks goes to all the doctors and hospital staff who took care of him with such great care.  Thank you all.  The family suggests memorials to a charity of the donor’s choice.
