Patricia "Pati" Hofler Obituary

CORVALLIS - Patricia Winifred Hofler of Corvallis Montana, passed away of natural causes in her home on Tuesday, February 23, 2021.

Pati was born February 2nd, 1934 in Decatur, Illinois to Everett and Winifred Mills the 4th of five children.  She moved to Mason City, Iowa where she met and married her first husband, Albert Jerome Hegenbarth and raised their 10 children. 

Pati divorced and later married Richard Hofler, who had four children.  In 1985, Pati and Richard moved to Hamilton, Montana where they both remained until their passing.  They built and managed an elder care home in Corvallis, Mt., called The Hofler House.

Pati became a born-again Christian in 1970.  She loved and served her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ all of her days and raised her children to do so as well.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Winifred Mills; her father, Everett Mills; her sister, Claudia Rye; her brother, Jim Mills; her sister, Mary Rigdon; her youngest brother, Donald Mills; her step-son, Loren Hofler; her son, Robert Hegenbarth; and her husband, Richard Hofler. 

Patricia was an author of one published book, “Proverbs in Rhythm and Rhyme” as well as several other unpublished books.  Pati loved and cared for people deeply and was always interested in everyone and sought their friendship.

Her children that remain are Hava Hegenbarth, Jim and Molly Hegenbarth, Heidi and Dr. Scott Smith, Carrie Hegenbarth, John and Pelita Hegenbarth, Heather and Jim Shaw, Hailey and Monte Peabody, William and Larisa Hegenbarth, Thomas Hegenbarth, Dr. Benjamin Hegenbarth; as well as 3 step-children, Jeanette Lien, Tim Hofler, and Greg Hofler. She has numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Pati’s life will be held at Barnabas Christian Ministries, 273 Fairgrounds Rd. in Hamilton on Saturday, March 6 at 11:00 am.  There will be a luncheon provided following the service at the church.  Burial will take place at the Western Montana State Veterans Cemetery.
