Roland Peltier Obituary

With our regret, Roland L. Peltier has passed on from this life.  Roland was born on March 10, 1942 in Belcourt, ND and died March 27, 2024 in Hamilton, MT.  He was 82 years old at his passing.

From stories he told, it was rough and nasty back then.  He would say he would walk 5 miles uphill to school and 6 miles uphill again to get back home.  Roland joined the U.S. Army and was stationed in Yakima, WA.  This is where he met out mother, Faye Liebert.  Holly was born in Coos Bay, OR in 1965.  Curtis was born in Yakima in 1966.  Last to join the family was Brenda and she was born in Polson in 1972.

Dad tried his hand at coaching.  This started with little league baseball in Clinton.  Then the family moved to Missoula and he started another baseball team.  During this time, he also started the Garden City Boxing Club.  Roland decided in the spring of 1979 to give a try at coaching soccer.  From doing all these sports, he met a lot of great kids and remembered the days he had in coaching them.

After retiring from the United States Post Office, Roland decided to buy an RV and go south.  He spent time in Arizona and Mexico.  When he go tired of driving, he sold his RV and lived in Missoula.  his pastime was watching sports and visiting the casinos around Missoula and later in Hamilton, when he was living with Holly.

Roland was preceded in death by his wife, Faye Peltier; and his parents.  He is survived by his 3 children, Holly of Corvallis, Curtis (Julie) and Brenda (Dave) all of Missoula; 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place and no services will be held per his request.  As his children, we are very grateful to have had a father like this and he will be missed.  Thank you Father.
