PINESDALE - Samuel Taggart Allred, 76, finished his lifelong fishing trip September 11, 2021. The son of Rulon and Athlene Allred, he began fishing November 19, 1944, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Any given day you could find him slipping away from his Allen Test Products duties, or landscape and gardening business, and heading to the closest canal, stream, or clear mountain lake, usually with a child or two in tow, to cast a line or two. He loved filling the mountain air with music between casts. An avid fisherman, he reeled in a large school of family members made up of siblings, sweethearts, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends. Sam had a great sense of humor and fishing trips usually included a few of his jokes; but most importantly, always included service to God and his fellow man.
We will all miss his fishing excursions but know that he is by his father's side casting that heavenly line.
Services will be held Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at 12:00 noon in the Pinesdale Chapel. The family will receive visitors Tuesday, September 14, 2021, from 7:00-8:30 at the Pinesdale Chapel. There will be no viewing (closed casket). Interment will be in the Pinesdale Cemetery.
