Sharon Clark Obituary

Rock Springs, WY - Sharon LuVina Clark (Shay) passed away suddenly at the age of 69 in the Sapphire Mountains in Montana on Sunday November 28th 2021.

Sharon Clark was born on September 24, 1952 in Morgantown, WV to Thelma and Waldo V. Shay. She was a long time resident of Sweetwater County Wyoming, living in Farson, Reliance and Rocksprings over 40 years.

Sharon met David M. Clark in high school; fell in love, and they were married shortly after on January 8th 1969 in Oakland, MD. They had three children together, and after many long phone conversations Sharon was finally convinced to move to Wyoming in 1981. Sharon worked at the Farson Mercantile, and the OT cafe & Bar before working 27 years for Sweetwater County School District #1; retiring in 2017.

Sharon was a loving and giving sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend to all that were blessed to have her in their lives. She loved her three pups Jackie, Jazmine, and Gretchen just as much as the rest of her family. Sharon was a very talented artist and painter (a skill that has been passed down throughout her family). Her artistic skills were honed while hand painting glass lamps for many years at the Morgantown Davidson Lynch Glass Factory. Sharon was also a self taught cake decorator, and made many cakes over the years. She was happiest surrounded by her family in large, loud gatherings. She took great pride in the legacy that she and her husband, David had created in this beautiful Wyoming town.

Sharon is preceded in death by her parents Thelma and Waldo Shay. Her loving Husband of 50 years David M. Clark, Grandson Jared Tanner Avery and her two shadows, both minpins named Holly and Jazmine Clark.

She is survived by her brother Carl and wife Rowand Shay. Brother Ronald Shay, sister Maxine and husband Stan Stalnaker, and sister-in-law Cathy and husband George Duffer. Her loving daughter Sandra K. and son in law Todd Trautman. Her son Roger A. and daughter in law Jodie Clark, and son Kevin W. Clark and significant other Shari Avery. Grandchildren Brandon and Susie Clark, Daney Stephenson, Michael Prather, Kaiya and Jordan Click, Kasey and Travis Mathis, Katherine Clark, Keanna Clark, Rileigh Trautman and Jacob Trautman. Great grandchildren Otis Leniger, Emmet Clark, Lorenzo Boahem, and Alise, Emma and Arthur Haggerty. Sharon is also survived by former daughter-in-law Aubrey Clark, and her numerous nieces and nephews as well as the many she considered family.
