I just read about Judy in the Willamette magazine, Spring 2016. So sorry to hear of her tragic death; we had not been in touch for some time, not since the passing of her husband, Andrew. Judy was my roommate at WU for 2 years. Judy was one year behind me, but I returned to the campus for her senior recital. She was so focused and particular about everything she did. Reading about her work for homeless dogs was so amazing, a new aspect that I didn't know about. Blessings on those she left behind and all the little dogs she helped along the way.

We will never forget our sister Judy who thru her love and dedication and sheer determination changed the lives of hundreds of 2-leggeds and 4-leggeds. Including ours! We love you and will always miss you but we promise to support MTCAN in your honor.

I just heard of Judy's passing and am so sad for the passing of such a kind and lovely person. Judy was the first friend I made when I moved to the Bitterroot in 2006. Together we volunteered at the Bitterroot animal shelter. We shared our mutual love of dogs. We also did several hikes together which included our canine friends. I will always remember you Judy! Rest well my friend!

It was such a sad day when the Lord decided to take Judy. I guess he was having trouble getting the dogs back to all the rightful owners in heaven so he picked her. It's always so hard when it's one that does so much for so many people. The Bitterroot won't be the same without her.

Judy was my music teacher although we were the same age and were good friends back in those days. I remember her wedding with Andy. Andy taught her to laugh. She has always been the most wonderful, caring person. I just started learning to play the mandolin and I was thinking of calling her about it. I wish I had. I am so sorry for those who love her. May God be with you.

Thank you Judy for all the animals you loved and cared for, what a tragic loss to the rescue community and the animals. Taking a bunch of homeless pets across the Rainbow Bridge with you when you left this world will be your final act of rescue, what a legacy you have left behind. God bless you Judy.

Judy and I used to meet regularly at her home to play duets - she played the piano, and I played the flute. I was always greeted enthusiastically by her rescued pups. This morning I played some of the music we used to practice together, Her accompaniment was in my thoughts, and her friendship will remain in my heart.

Judy was my sister - one of my own "chosen sisters" we decided to create for ourselves a few years ago...starting with our college years she was someone I loved and looked up to for her centered way of being, her musical ability, her gentle sense of humor and loyalty. We touched base over the years and came together when we visited in 2011. Out of that visit to Corvalis came our wonderful dog Pete, one of her rescued dogs we met at the house. I will never forget her or her work with animals, her compassion, her visit to us here in Seattle in August while I had a health issue to deal with, her loyalty as a friend, and her generosity of spirit. May your soul be free to create more love...I miss you from my life.

Judy was truly an exceptional person. After my brother Andy died, she continued to maintain a very close relationship with her mother-in-law (my mother) all through the years and was a great help to her, especially this past year when my mother was battling cancer. This is such a loss. Not many people in this world have given as much joy as Judy did to everyone around her. I'll never forget her and I'll always look to her life as one to be emulated. She didn't waste one minute and did so much good for the world.

We first met Judy when she owned the Music Box on Main Street. She hired Charlie to remodel her store. What a great gal...............and we became good friends with her and her mother. When Judy moved to Corvallis we enjoyed visiting her and all her puppies. Her music talent was amazing and we loved hearing her play the piano. Of all the beautiful instruments she preferred her old up right. I so treasure the tape she gave us of some of her piano playing. She was so kind to everyone; animal or human and she will be so missed by all. God Bless, Judy; we love you.

Judy was a beacon of kindness in a not so kind world. Every person who met her, every dog she touched was blessed to have known her. I'm so happy I was in a class with her over the weekend and got to tell her that she was my hero. I am sad for all of us, for the dogs who won't get to be with her. She touched all our lives so deeply. May her legacy live on.

Our community was so blessed to have her. She was a beautiful soul who gave freely of her love and time to animals and graced many performances with her musical talent. I rented an instrument from her way back in the day of school band, and had the great honor of sharing a stage with her in the Bitterroot Chorus. I am also thankful for the dog that is currently sleeping on my feet: another gift from Judy. She will be missed.

We adopted our wonderful dog, Cody, from Judy about a year and a half ago. I will never forget her obvious compassion and patience - she was such a gentle person and so helpful when we asked for advice about training. It was so apparent to me that she cared deeply for every animal in her care, whether it had been with her for just a couple days or many months, and strived to give it the best chance at finding it's forever family. The world and our community has lost a wonderful person, and she is missed dearly.

Judy, oh Judy. We owe you so much. You gave us our beautiful Koala, a light in our lives. You trusted us to care for him. You rescued him from certain death. And then, we gained a friend out of it. Visiting at adoption events where we would volunteer or sign books Koala's story was in. Buying cookies so we could donate to you. You took in a stray we found but couldn't keep. Your piano playing and witty, humorous banter in choir... we will miss it all so much. I take heart knowing you are surrounded by furry friends, romping, playing and soaring joyously over that rainbow bridge.

I met Judy at the Bitter Root Humane Association walking dogs with a bright smile on her face. This summer, we were exercising dogs on the same shift for a few weeks and we'd have talks through the fence. Judy has done more for dogs than probably anyone else in this valley, always having more room for a litter of puppies, a scared older dog, or a special needs animal that she'd go the extra mile for. She's an inspiration for me, and gives me strength and vision to help our pets like she did. Each dog was special, and each dog got a piece of her heart. Judy will be missed by her two-footed and four-footed friends!

Judy was truly a light for all who knew her. I am so thankful for the 40 plus years of friendship. Rest in Peace.

I didn't know Judy personally, but so greatful for her love and dedication to the animals of the bitter root, she did such an amazing job with my grand dog that I can tell her heart and soul went into each and every life she touched. What a tragic loss to the community, sending love and prayers from Pennsylvania.

A bright light has gone out in our world. Judy was a treasured friend and a fellow pianist. I am so grateful for all the years of making music with her and for the special gift of her friendship. I know she is playing with the angels now! Judy will never be forgotten, and the beautiful legacy of her friendship, her music and her deep love for animals will live on forever. I will miss you so. Rest in peace, dear friend.

Judy helped me find my beloved dog Pista. She was always there to answer my questions, which seem so silly now. I saw her last Saturday at Walgreen's, but I didn't stop, I just smiled. I wish I had stopped to say Hi.
