Loree Mann

HAMILTON - Loree passed away Tuesday, April 19 at her home of natural causes. She was born October 10, 1928 La Grange WY on her fathers 29th  birthday at her Craton grandparents’ ranch to Floyd Marvelin Sanders and Stacia Eva (Craton) Sanders.

Loree graduated La Grange, WY High School 1943. She attended Immanuel Missionary College, (Colorado Springs, CO), Northwest Nazarene College (Nampa, ID), Nebraska State Teachers College (Chadron, NE) and University of MT (Missoula, MT) enabling her to be an elementary school teach for 10 years in Wyoming, Haiti, Idaho and Victor, MT. She taught missionary children in Haiti for a short time, returned home enrolled in nurses training at Deaconess Hospital in Spokane, was accepted but decided to drop nursing for marriage to Raymond Mann whom she met at NNC. They married December 21, 1957 in Kennewick, WA.

She worked as nurses aide at the original Daly Memorial Hospital for 2 years then opened her Jack and Jill Kindergarten in their home in Hamilton and then ran Family Day Care for 25 years.  She retired in 2000 because of a heart condition.

In those early years on their 1 acre she gardened and canned furiously, was active in the Mt View Wesleyan Church in Hamilton with youth group, Sunday School Classes, and played piano and organ as needed at church.

Ray and Loree celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary December 21, 2009 with family and friends at their church and with family at a mountain cabin retreat near Darby. Many flowers came to church from her gardens, a sweet smelling savor to the Lord.  She always felt Jesus came to make her what she always should have been.

Loree is survived by her husband, Ray; 3 children, Marjorie Blackwill in Lewiston, ID, Prescott Mann in Salem, OR and Holly Lewis in Sierra Vista, AZ; a fourth child, Preston Earl Mann, infant identical twin to Prescott (deceased 2 ½ days) Victor Cemetery.  She also leaves 8 grandchildren; Ashley Lewis (Austin, TX), Allison Lewis (Portland, OR), Ryan Lewis (Seattle WA), Brittany Blackwill (Lewiston, ID), Aaron Blackwill (Caldwell, ID), Preston Mann (Newburgh, OR), Lauren Mann (Salem, OR), Miranda Mann (Salem, OR).   Loree shared a close relationship with her 5 siblings; Kenneth Sanders (deceased), Alyce Martin, Myra Gaines, Richard Sanders (deceased) and Ted Sanders all of Kennewick, WA except Ted who lives in San Diego, CA. She also leaves Beryl Mann her sister-in-law (Hamilton, MT) who is always there when needed.

There will be a celebration of her life April 26, 11:00 am at Mountain View Wesleyan Church in Hamilton.
