Vivian C. (Welch) Algie

Vivian Charlene Welch Algie, 89, passed away peacefully at Valley View Estates on Thursday, December 1.

Vivian was born in Hamilton to Thomas Dewey Welch and Eva Lucinda Dye Welch on June 5, 1927. Vivian graduated from Hamilton High School as valedictorian in 1945 and went to work at Citizens Bank until she married Raymond Algie on December 26, 1953. Ray and Vivian settled down to raise their family in Hamilton, and Vivian eventually went back to Citizens Bank, working there until retirement.

Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and son-in-law Brady Anderson.

Vivian is survived by her brother Don Welch, also of Hamilton, whom she adored. Vivian is also survived by her children Donald (Mary) Algie, David (Sheree) Algie, and Susan Anderson, and by seven grandchildren and a great grandson.

In her later years, Vivian enjoyed the companionship of her Jack Russell terriers Sadie, followed by Tina; they brought joy to her life. Vivian enjoyed the simple things in life and had a lifelong love of the Bitterroot Valley and it's mountains. She also enjoyed reading, walks with her dog, and rides on the Old Darby Road and picnics up Skalkaho.

The family thanks the staff at Valley View Estates for the loving care they provided Vivian for the past three years and Home Care Services prior to that.

Services are pending and will be announced by the Daly-Leach Chapel in Hamilton.
