He was born on April 27, 1929 in Crandon, Wisconsin as the youngest son of the late Eugene Karl Koerner and Barbara Koelling.

Bill graduated from Roosevelt High School in St. Louis, MO, where he was the captain of the gymnastic team for 3 years.

In 1949, at the age of 20, he enlisted into the U.S. Army and began his 20 year military career, serving in the Korean and Vietnam conflicts and beyond. Receiving many medals and commendations, and achieving the rank of Chief Warrant Officer.

Bill led a full life developing many talents including artist, author, musician, and poet.  He was passionately devoted to his God, his family and his country.  Bill served numerous missions for his church while serving in the military and developed a deep and abiding faith in God that guided him throughout his life.  His faith moved him to have a very large family which he worked diligently to support, educate and love.  Bill was a cherished Husband, Brother, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather and Friend.

After his military career, Bill continued to serve his country in many ways including serving as a city Judge for 6 years and also by championing principles of Freedom, Liberty and Individual Rights, by educating and actively participating in political affairs of the communities and States he lived in.  He was a true patriot.
